Vice President
Aaron Dyer
Hello everyone,
My name is Aaron. Sometimes A-A Ron if your familiar with that dang sketch online. I look forward to dancing, teaching and learning with you.
I started dancing in high school. There was an opportunity to learn east coast swing dance. I think the class was for a couple months. We ended up forming a group and doing shows all around Victoria. We also somehow got into the semi finals of the YTV youth awards. What a wild time.
I didn’t dance again for many years until I was the vice president of my universities dance club. I taught what Swing I could remember but we also learned some ballroom dances, Latin and hip hop. It was a wonderful experience.
Most recently I started dancing through Latin Dance Canada and my teacher/friend Ronald Martinez. I have been passionate (read obsessive) about salsa and bachata and have been taking every class I can. During this time I have also picked up Kizomba and Zouk.
I love dance. In the words of a friend it’s a way for me to physically burn off some anxious energy I am prone to. It also keep my brain active with learning and moving. Most importantly it has connected me with a wonderful community of supportive and passionate dance nerds. My goal with dance, other than my own learning, is to introduce as many people as I can to this dance I love so much.
Let’s meet on the dance floor!
