Lorne Chan

Welcome. My name is Lorne Chan.

I am a long time dance enthusiast. My favourite dances have been Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba. I have also had some limited dance forays in to Ballroom, Tango and Westcoast swing. I love travelling to various dance festivals in other cities as well as attending all of the local festivals and dances in town. I usually go to 3-4 dance events a week. I find that dance is a great way to connect with people, express your creativity and get a fun workout!

Oh…. How did I start dancing? There was a Latin band playing some cool music downtown. My friend and I were asked to dance by a couple of the girls. We didn’t know how to dance salsa and we awkwardly made our way through a song. Needless to say, we were not asked to dance again. My buddy and I figured, “let’s take some lessons and figure how to dance”! My life was forever changed after I had made that decision!

My goal, as ambassador with the Latin Dance Association, is to spread the word and welcome people interested in the wonderful world of dance. It is such a fun and social activity that can be truly lifechanging!
