Sara Martinez

My name is Sara Martinez, and I’m very excited to be part of the Victoria Latin Dance Association. I moved to Victoria from Mexico City about a year ago, where I grew up surrounded by Latin music, especially salsa. My parents love it so much that it became the soundtrack of my childhood, even if I still proudly dance with two left feet!

I joined VLDA because I deeply believe in the power of community, culture, and connection. I have a background in law and experience in labour relations and conflict resolution. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Global Leadership at Royal Roads University, and I’m passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome, which perfectly aligns with VLDA’s mission.
